Google+ is now the second largest social network with over 500 million users with 300 million of these logging in everyday. So what are the best ways to your business noticed and for people to circle (follow) you. You can look at your current social media activity on Facebook but this will be a complete waste of time as Facebook don’t want businesses their without advertising that’s why they are punishing small business so less people see the things your business shares. Unlike Google+ where there isn’t any adverts it’s all completely social you connections will be stronger you can organize people into different categories like, customer,potential customer,VIP customer,People like recipes and so it’s targeted free marketing at it’s best.
How to get more Google+ followers?
1. Fill your profile to the absolute max.
By adding a profile picture,header image and every piece of information you can on the about page. This will not only show people you’re serious about Google+ it will also help your SEO.
2. Circle people.
Circle people with similar interest to your business for instance if I ran a bakery business I would use the search option at the top and search for the term “bakery”, I would circle people that I thought had similar bakery interests. I would also want top see what people in my area saying about baking so I would search baking and change everything to my location. And circle these people into a potential customers circle.
3. Share unique content.
Time and time again I see people sharing the same content it’s boring and not relevant once you’ve see it already. It can be hard to post unique content put your voice on everything you share whether it be a video or an article adding your voice makes it unique. Share things before anyone else in your industry has the time to use sites like Reddit and news sites in your industry.
4. Ask Questions.
This is an easy one you can ask any question related to your business I;m going to use the bakery business as an example again, I could ask people what there favorite type of cake is, or How often do you bake around the home, as the Google+ community love answer questions you’re bound to get interactions on your questions.
5. Join Communities.
Communities are the newest feature to be added to Google+ they work in the same way as online forums as you can post in different topics in the community also spanners aren’t torrelated. Join as many like min-dined people in your industry for example if you’re a baker then join baking communities you can even create your own. Communities are a great way to target your posts to people for free.
6. Interact with others.
Social media is a conversation so talk and interact with others using your Google+ page. Speak your mind but make sure that you don’t offend people as this kind put people off massively. Use the search options to find posts about a certain topic, interact with the people you’ve circled,+1.share and comment on their updates. This will then create a relationship between you and then the stronger the relationship the more influence you’ll have in them.
7. Post at the best times.
If you have a Google+ page then I would suggest you use HootSuite as it finds the best time to post automatically based on the amount of interactions your latest posts have had, you can also add your blog’s RSS feed so your Google+ followers will hear the latest news from your blog automatically. If you’re a freelancer you can use the Chrome extension DoShare to schedule your posts and GPlusdData to find the best time to post. GPlusData also has some great analytics about your Google+ profile.
8. Post on Trend.
Staying on trend has never been more important for your business than today. Use the explore tab on the left to find what’s hot at the moment you’ll notice on the right what’s trending on Google+ at the moment. Most of these trends will be include a hashtag which is fantastic for you to get your business noticed and to stay on trend. By simply posting with these hasthags for example I can currently see that #batman is trending so I would post a picture of a batman cake or cookie to get my business name out there if I owned a bakery.
